When Harry Met Sally
So. Romantic. When Harry (Billy Crystal) met Sally (Meg Ryan they both hated each other. The second time they met they still didn't like each other too much. But the third time they decided to become friends. Then things got interesting.

After Christmas Perk Ups
The time after Christmas can be a major let down. You have to wait a whole year before being festive again. So if you and your significant friend are feeling a little blue after the Yuletide festivities, here are a few suggestions to perk yourselves up for New Year's:
-After Christmas sales! If your wallet can stand it, hit the stores up and get some great discounts on Christmas items for next year. Shopping can be very therapeutic and if you're feeling down, it's a great way to lift your spirits.
-Go out to eat. Anytime I am feeling depressed, stressed, or anxious I go to my favorite restaurant. That lifts my spirits every time.
-Spa day! Those are always a good idea to lift your spirits and make you feel refreshed for the new year. Can't fit in a whole spa day? Get a mani/pedi together. (Yes, those are for men too!)
-Take a trip to New York to enjoy the sites and atmosphere before the ball drops.
-Donate to a charity. Helping other people or animals almost never fails to make you feel great.

White Christmas
This is probably my favorite Christmas movie ever! I have to watch it with my husband absolutely every year. The music is fantastic and I absolutely adore Danny Kaye and he is so hilarious in this movie. And I love Vera-Ellen for her stunning dancing, and Rosemary Clooney's gorgeous voice, and the great Bing Crosby, just for being Bing Crosby. This is one of the best holiday movies ever and I highly recommend you watch it with your sweetheart!

Christmas Present Idea: Misc.
It's the last week of shopping until Christmas! If you still don't have a clue about what to get her, here is a list of miscellaneous options that you should be able to get hold of this close to Christmas:
-A spa day. Check your yellow pages and buy her a day at the spa for two. She'll love it!
-A month of maid service. Who wouldn't love to go a month without having to clean?
-A year, or half a year, of flowers with a Flower of the Month Club enrollment. Not into flowers? There are over a hundred other gifts-of-the-month clubs out there. Pick something she'll like.
-Broadway season tickets to some local productions. That could be a great opportunity for some future dates!
-Take her on a super awesome Cruise!!! They have some really great deals out there on the Internets. Shop around. If she's not into boats, think of some other fabulous weekend away. I hear that Biltmore is especially nice.
-Gift certificates! These days you can get them for just about everywhere. Try one to her favorite restaurant or shop. A word of caution, though, those gift debit cards from banks often carry surprise hidden fees. I got one from JP Morgan Chase as a rebate on some tires. We tried to use it and found out that they were taking $3.95 off every month after the first three months since it was issued! So do her a favor and please do not buy one of those horrible scam gift cards! You can't even use them everywhere, and they are a huge hassle.

And check back next week, Christmas Eve, for the final installment. That should give you just enough time to run out to your local sex shop and stock up.

Eve's Christmas
I love this movie! It's about a successful woman who lives in New York, but who is very unhappy. She's alone on Christmas and she wishes she could go back and do things different in her life. When she wakes up she's in Oregon 8 years in the past, where she made the pivotal decisions that changed her life. Will she choose love or will she choose success? So fun!

Christmas Present Idea: Gadgets
Is she more a high tech girl? Then here is a list of gadgets that she might love:
The season hot item, the iPad. Very handy, dandy and useful for reading ebooks.
Maybe she needs to a new phone. In that case check out the sexy new Droid. So sleek. So shiny. So a must-have.
Maybe she's an Apple girl. In that case try the iPhone 4. Lots of new features and such.
Is she a gamer? Then the top item on a lot of gamer girl's lists this year is the Kinect for the Xbox360. Looks like a step up from the Wii.
Does she love to bake or cook? Then you have to get her a Kitchenaid Stand Mixer! And get it in a pretty color, or at least something that she will like to match to her other appliances.
Does she love to roadtrip? Try a convenient GPS so she won't get lost.
Is she a coffee fanatic? Try a Bodum French Press or sleek new Coffeemaker.
Does she absolutely love to clean like Monica from Friends? I hear there are some women (and some men) out there who are actually like that. If you found one of those, hold onto her! And also get her a super awesome Dyson vacuum cleaner. I have one and I can attest that they are the best vacuum out on the market. I absolutely love mine, and I hate to clean!
OK, so that is a good list of gadgets to get you started. If none of those sounds like the right kind of option for your person, then go do a little research. Amazon is doing some amazing sales this season and there are a bajillion articles on the season's top gadgets, if you google. Get out there and shop! You're running out of time!

Lots of big names in this quirky British romcom. If you like Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Keira Knightly, Emma Thompson, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman, and holy crap a bajillion others, then this movie is for you! It has about 8 different stories going on, following the romantic lives of all these couples right before Christmas. Very sweet movie and I highly recommend checking it out!

Christmas Present Ideas: The Bag
One of my favorite things (and I think a favorite thing of most women, and some men) is the bag. I love purses! I also love camera bags, suitcases, traveling bags, coin purses, etc. They are fun and cute and they hold stuff! So if you are stuck for a Christmas present this year for your special someone, check out some of these bags that I think would make a fabulous present! (Also, when in doubt, choose the color black. It will go with almost anything!)
-Jo Totes are some super cute little handbags/camera bags. I especially like the ones with the little rose on the side.
-Peruse Etsy for some really cute, original handmade bags. I especially like this, this, and this. But if you're looking for something more gender neutral, try this.
-Coach tends to be a popular option. They are pricey and swanky!
-And of course it is really hard to go wrong with Gucci. Obscenely expensive, but guaranteed to please!
Also try Ebay, Amazon, and Urban Outfitters.

Holiday Inn
A fun and snazzy film to kick off the Thanksgiving/Christmas season! This film contains both holidays, so I figured it was a safe pick. Lots of fun music and dancing with Bing Crosby, Fred Astaire, and Marjorie Reynolds. Be warned, there is an offensive black face scene.

Christmas Present Idea: Bath & Body
So Christmas is coming up and if you haven't started your shopping yet, you better get on it. From now until Christmas I'm going to be using my Monday posts to give you present ideas for your special lady (or man, we don't judge!) friend. First up: Bath and Body products. Here are my top picks:
1. The Body Shoppe: Spiced Vanilla. This is hands down the best scent I've ever found in a bath product. If you go this route consider getting enough to last through the year because once Christmas is over, it's gone.
2. Sephora: Try sweet Holiday Greetings or yummy Gingerbread House or refreshing Candy Cane. Or get all 3!
3. Bath and Body Works: Check out Japanese Cherry Blossom (I got this for Christmas one year and I used it up in a second!) Vanilla Bean Noel, Twisted Peppermint, Snow Kissed Berry, or Winter Candy Apple.

O from what power hast thou this powerful might,
With insufficiency my heart to sway,
To make me give the lie to my true sight,
And swear that brightness doth not grace the day?
Whence hast thou this becoming of things ill,
That in the very refuse of thy deeds,
There is such strength and warrantise of skill,
That in my mind thy worst all best exceeds?
Who taught thee how to make me love thee more,
The more I hear and see just cause of hate?
O though I love what others do abhor,
With others thou shouldst not abhor my state.
If thy unworthiness raised love in me,
More worthy I to be beloved of thee.

This Time Around
See what happens when you go on an Arrested Development binge? You forget about your movie post and then put it up late.
A sweet made for TV movie starring Brian Austin Green of 90210 fame and Sara Rue and Carly Pope, both of Popular fame. So you can already tell this is going to be a fun movie! Basically Sara Rue and Carly Pope's characters were big geeks in middle school, and Brian Austin Green's character made them quite miserable, so they transferred to Catholic school. Almost 10 years later they run into each other again, only this time the girls are super hot and Green wants to date Pope. Hijinks ensue. It's super fun, and I highly recommend it!

Fall Mood Setters
Ways to set a romantic mood for these chilly fall nights:
-Light a scented candle. Some of the best scents for fall are Pumpkin Spice, Sugar Cookies, Apple Pie, or other scents that smell like baking.
-If you have a fireplace, light it up. Fireplaces are so cozy and romantic and perfect for setting a sexy mood.
-Bake cookies. Real estate agents often use this technique to sell houses because people love the way it makes a house feel like a home. So if you don't have a scented candle bake some cookies or make some mulled wine or cider.
-Invest in some comfortable, soft blankets and couch throws. Then you will have more incentive to cuddle together on the couch.
-Buy some new CD's or DVD's with romance in mind. Lately I've been a huge fan of ABC Family's made for TV movies. They are almost always romantic and you can count on a happy ending. That's perfect for staying cozy and warm and happy.

Fellatio
Photo from Fearless Gearless
Men often want women to go down on them and women are often not interested in doing that. Why? Ejaculation tastes really nasty. It's also a lot of work, very messy, and the thought of having an organ men pee out of in your mouth is not pleasant. Also choking isn't fun, chapped lips from all the saliva, and pubic hair in your teeth. So, you see why oral sex for you probably isn't at the top of her list? But sometimes it can still be fun and if you want her to go down on you, remember these tips:
Do It:
-Trim
-Clean yourself thoroughly
-Make some appreciative noises
-Be properly thankful
Don't Do It:
-Thrust into her face
-Make loud, horrifying noises
-Pass Gas

Bridget Jones's Diary
Sexy Renee Zellweger plays Bridget Jones, a bit of a hopeless case when it comes to romance. Then there is Colin Firth who plays Mark Darcy and Hugh Grant who plays Daniel Cleaver, both love interests for Bridget. So now you have that information. Add to it that this movie is loosely based on Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. What do you get? A fun, silly, sexy romantic comedy! Highly recommend!

Autumn Bouquets
If you have a special occasion coming up then think about ordering some Autumn inspired flowers. The shops all have some really stunning fall bouquets available at this time of year. I was just doing some shopping on 1800 flowers and here were my favorite arrangements:
Garden of Grandeur - for Fall
Autumn Tulips
Autumn Pop-Art Lillies
100 Blooms of Multicolored Spray Roses
Amber Waves
Fields of Europe - for Fall
Plum Crazy - for Fall
Orange Rose & Peruvian Lily
I tend to use 1800flowers when I send flowers to family out of state, however if you're going to be buying something for someone who lives much closer, I suggest hitting up your local florist. Now is the perfect time to buy these pretty arrangements before the Christmas inspired bouquets hit the market.

Thy glass will show thee how thy beauties wear,
Thy dial how thy precious minutes waste,
These vacant leaves thy mind's imprint will bear,
And of this book, this learning mayst thou taste.
The wrinkles which thy glass will truly show,
Of mouthed graves will give thee memory,
Thou by thy dial's shady stealth mayst know,
Time's thievish progress to eternity.
Look what thy memory cannot contain,
Commit to these waste blanks, and thou shalt find
Those children nursed, delivered from thy brain,
To take a new acquaintance of thy mind.
These offices, so oft as thou wilt look,
Shall profit thee, and much enrich thy book.

Pile of Leaves
Leaf Tunnel at North Lake, Ca - Crayola Snowdrifts for Mizzy, originally uploaded by Matthew Pacheco Photography.
A fun, special fall Sunday date idea for you:
Prepare a tasty Brunch for the two of you. Either eat at home or pack it in a picnic basket to go. Then drive to your local park, or head to your yard, and rake up a pile of leaves. Proceed to jump into the leaves like little kids. Once you're finished head back inside for some warm cider or maybe a steamy shower to rinse the leaf bits out of your hair. Make a hearty supper and spend the rest of the evening cuddling in front of a
romantic movie.

Ghostbusters
So it's Halloween week and of course I had to pick a suitably themed movie. It was pretty difficult because there are a lot of movies out there that fit the bill. However, Ghostbusters is a classic, so I really had no choice.
Focusing on scientists Dr. Peter Venkman (Bill Murray) and Dr. Raymond Stantz (Dan Aykroyd) and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) who are kicked out of their university jobs in NYC. They quickly join up with Winston Zeddmore (Ernie Hudson) and begin to fight ghosts. It's very exciting and there is romance between Venkman and Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and Spengler and Janine Melnitz (Annie Potts). It's a perfect Halloween movie.
For a suitable repast, I am taking inspiration from Epicurious! Try their Devilishly Delicious Halloween Dinner. Remember the Witches' Brew

Halloween Date Ideas
-Scary movie marathon - I like to do themes. So I might pick a Hitchcock movie night, or a Jason movie night, or something like witch movies, or vampire movies. Whichever you prefer.
-Haunted house - These are pretty easy to find around Halloween and they make a great place for a date. If it's really scary it's an excuse to put your arms around her and if it's really lame it's a great thing to make fun of over dinner.
-Costume party - She can dress up as a sexy elf and you can be a umm... Sexy man elf?
-Hayride - Hayrides are popular Fall and Halloween activities. Make sure to spread a comfortable blanket over the hay or you'll get stabbed by straw all night.
-Jack-o-lantern carving - Have a contest to see who can make the best carving. Winner gets to choose that night's activities.
-Block party - A great way to get to know your neighbors and check out some new possible date locations in your neck of the woods.
-Costumed pub crawl - Where I live this is a popular Halloween activity. Everyone gets dressed up and then bar hops.
-Rocky Horror Picture Show event - Get dressed up in your preferred Rocky Horror garb and head out to your nearby Rocky Horror event. "It's just a jump to the left..."

Love is my sin, and thy dear virtue hate,
Hate of my sin, grounded on sinful loving,
O but with mine, compare thou thine own state,
And thou shalt find it merits not reproving,
Or if it do, not from those lips of thine,
That have profaned their scarlet ornaments,
And sealed false bonds of love as oft as mine,
Robbed others' beds' revenues of their rents.
Be it lawful I love thee as thou lov'st those,
Whom thine eyes woo as mine importune thee,
Root pity in thy heart that when it grows,
Thy pity may deserve to pitied be.
If thou dost seek to have what thou dost hide,
By self-example mayst thou be denied.

Body Paints
Need a fun and sexy activity to keep your bedroom lively? Consider body painting. Get some sexy body paints from Kama Sutra or make your own. Use some of these ingredients:
-Whipped Cream
-Melted chocolate
-Sprinkles (to put on something like honey)
-Honey
-Strawberry sauce
Or whatever else that is edible and will spread easily like paint. Make sure to put down extra sheets or blankets so you don't get your room messy. Then use your fingers for brushes, it's way more fun. Then when you're finished making art you can lick the paint off each other. Yum!

The World Is Not Enough
If there is someone sexier than James Bond then I would like to know who it is. Enjoy watching Pierce Brosnan star as Agent 007 (my personal favorite Bond actor) opposite Denise Richards as Dr. Christmas Jones (The corniest line in the movie is a play off her name) and Dame Judi Dench as M. This is probably my favorite Bond film thanks to the opening theme being performed by Garbage and the tragic story of the lead villain. It's a Bond film with more going on than the typical explosions and gun fights. I highly recommend checking it out!
A menu worthy of James Bond MUST contain a martini, shaken not stirred. Then try a few of these dishes:

Porn Review
None of the links in this post are safe for work.
From 1985, complete with bad music, big hair, and too much make-up! The basic storyline is about the corruption and intrigue in the business world. Which is, of course, just a very thin story built entirely around all the fucking.
The action is only OK. There is one woman who really doesn't have the body for porn. I was so distracted by her jiggling cellulite that I couldn't enjoy any of her scenes. And I am not one to comment on a woman's body, but really, if you are going to film porn you should do a little toning. It's only professional, you know.
I would say that the movie would probably be better if you mute it and don't pay too much attention. Like have it on in the background while you get it on with your partner.

Chasing Liberty
Someone asked me what movie makes me want to have sex and I couldn't think of a single one. And then I remembered this movie. I think this is the only movie I've ever seen that actually makes me want to have sex (you know, aside from porn). And it is all Matthew Goode's fault. He is so freaking hot!
So yes, I highly recommend this movie. Even though when you first read the synopsis it sounds really lame (Oh no, another movie about the President's daughter!) and it stars Mandy Moore. It has just enough little quirky fun bits, plus a really great romantic story. I think this is my current favorite movie and I've watched it about a zillion times.
Since this movie moves around from Prague to Venice to Austria to Berlin to America to London, here is a varied menu inspired by Prague, Venice, and Austria:

Fall Inspired Dates
My favorite Fall dates:
-Hay rides
-Corn mazes
-Pumpkin carving
-Cider drinking
-Apple picking
-Playing in a pile of leaves
-Fall festivals
-Hiking (I much prefer this activity in the Autumn as it is much too hot in summer and much too wet in Spring and much too cold in Winter)
-Getting in those last few dinners on the patio at our favorite restaurants
-Outside movies
-Farmer's Markets (Surprisingly these are really great places for dates if you go to a good market)
-Staying home and cooking together then watching a movie
-Halloween movies and costume parties!
So go out and enjoy the great Fall weather before it turns too cold to do anything but snuggle by the fireplace!

OK, this is the Best. Idea. Ever. Seriously!
What you will need:
-Floor or mattress covering that can get dirty
-Towels
-Whipped Cream
-Cherries
-Chocolate Sauce, Fudge, Strawberry Sauce, Caramel (whatever you prefer)
-Sprinkles
-Marshmallows
What you are going to do:
-Fix the cover on the floor or bed or wherever you decide to do this.
-Take her clothes off and lay her down.
-Start turning her into a human sundae. Take your time and decorate her thoroughly.
-Lick her clean.
-Afterward make sure to take a nice, steamy shower and help her get totally clean.
OK, so how is this not the best idea ever? Seriously, it is the BEST IDEA EVER!

Houseboat
All you need to know: This movie is somewhat crappy. It had potential, but it didn't work out. It stars Cary Grant and Sofia Loren and they have zero chemistry. It's unfortunate, but what can you do? Maybe you will like this movie more than I did.
So, here's a rather fishy menu, since the movie takes place on the water:
Menu
Appetizer
Grilled East Coast Oysters with Corn Jalapeno Salsita
Main Course
Pepper Honey Cedar Plank Salmon
Vegetarian Main Course
Mac and Cheese with Sourdough Breadcrumbs
Sides
Smoked Sausage and Okra Dirty Rice

Rainy Weather Dates
Rainy weather is, in my opinion, the most romantic weather. And now that Fall is here, we're going to be seeing a lot more cold, rainy days, which just screams CUDDLE WEATHER! I am very excited. So, with that in mind, here are a few tips for some fun and cozy rainy day dates:
-Go for a long, wet walk in the rain. Huddle together under an umbrella and splash in puddles while wearing your Wellies. Don't worry about getting cold and wet because when you get home, have fun taking each other out of the wet things and then warm up with a nice, steamy shower for 2. This is extra good if you follow it up with back massages.
-Light a fire in the fireplace (if you don't have one, don't worry, just get a clip of a fire and bring it up on your TV or computer, and/or light a bunch of candles), lay down on a furry rug and listen to your favorite music while cuddling.
-Try a nice dinner and a movie where you stay in and watch a romantic film and cook together in the kitchen. Make sure to make the whole process more pleasant by nibbling appetizers and sipping wine while fixing your main course.
-Have hot chocolate and popcorn while playing a board game or watching a TV marathon. While naked and cuddled together on the couch under a flannel blanket. Maybe spike the hot chocolate with some Baileys or Kahlua.
No matter what you end up doing, make sure to open your windows a crack so you can listen to the rain. There's no better background noise for romance. Maybe you'll get really lucky and a thunderstorm will blow up. Sex during a storm is the best!

58
That god forbid, that made me first your slave,
I should in thought control your times of pleasure,
Or at your hand th' account of hours to crave,
Being your vassal bound to stay your leisure.
O let me suffer (being at your beck)
Th' imprisoned absence of your liberty,
And patience tame to sufferance bide each check,
Without accusing you of injury.
Be where you list, your charter is so strong,
That you your self may privilage your time
To what you will, to you it doth belong,
Your self to pardon of self-doing crime.
I am to wait, though waiting so be hell,
Not blame your pleasure be it ill or well.

Stockings
Why is it that men like sexy stockings? From daydreams about taking them off to fantasies about having sex while she's wearing them, they do tend to come up a lot in sexy scenarios.
The next time you want to spice things up in the bedroom, ask her to wear some thigh high fishnets. They could make things very interesting!
